Burning ISO images onto CD-R
I can't get any "iso" file to burn properly. I use nti and use the burn iso option and it finds the iso, burns it, but when I try to use it the cd, it can't find it. ISO is a format for easy cd creator. Certain other burning programs also support it, or try to, with varying degree of success.

Whatever else you want you get from the repositories.

Another really good , minimal distribution is Damn Small Linux and as far as fuller distributions go, my favorite is PCLinuxOS anyway, I used puppy 3.01 sea monkey Just download the .iso file and then with your cd burning software, there should be an option to "burn image" be sure to use the "burn image" option

Say "c:\jumpstart\" Then open Nero and select "NEW" Then Select "CD-ROM(ISO)" Then Select all the files and folders in the Jumpstart directory and drag them to the left side of the nero display... burning iso images on a cd in linux
Just run 'md5 4.2-install.iso' and it will output an MD5 checksum. This you compare with the one on the site. (CHECKSUM.MD5) for that particular ISO file. if they are identical it means you have a valid ISO image you can burn. If they are not, don't even try to burn a CD, you'll end up with a coaster.

How do you burn a Nero iso that is sized around 834meg onto a 700meg CDr ??? ie. copying a DC CDr onto another CDr ??? Ones that are less than 650meg are fine, but what about ones like Super Runabout which are around 834meg, or even ones which end up being 918meg! Zaxxon You go to the store and buy them.
